Mary-Kate Olsen’s costly clothes

Mary-Kate Olsen has insured her wardrobe for more than $2 million. The 22-year-old actress - who is widely regarded as a fashion icon - owns so many designer clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories she reportedly decided to protect them in case they are stolen or destroyed.

A source told the National Enquirer magazine: “Mary-Kate got closest insurance. She has pieces that cost over $25,000 each. She has a vintage Chanel bag that is worth over $40,000!” The insurance policy is purely for her clothes and does not even cover her vast collection of expensive jewellery.

Mary-Kate and her twin sister Ashley - who in 2005 were estimated to have a combined net worth of $300 million - have a lucrative brand including their own fashion and accessories range, their own film series and successful acting and modelling careers. The twins began their career at just six-months-old playing the part of baby Michelle Tanner on US TV show ‘Full House’.

Elizabeth Hurley for MNG S-S 2008

Knowing full well that photoshopping isn’t an option at a photo call, model-come-actress Liz Hurley remains fully clothed at the launch of “Elizabeth Hurley for MNG” collection in Munich.

It wasn’t the same story for the Spring / Summer 2008 advertisements, with Hurley donning her own designs for the occasion.

Fashion wrap: Trendsetters have off day

This week’s fashion wrap proves that even style icons have off days with Sienna Miller doing her best impression of a lampshade and Nicole Richie impersonating a curtain.

She’s just split up from fiancé Rhys Ifans, so maybe she was distracted, but at the premiere of  her new film The Edge of Love in Edinburgh, Sienna Miller wore black leggings topped with a fringed floor-length over-dress and a hat.

Fringing is supposed to be a big trend this winter, but the waistcoat was taking things to the extreme.
Another celebrity making a dodgy outfit choice was trend-setter Nicole Richie.

At the Women in Film Awards in Beverly Hills she chose a satin, printed caftan dress - which drowned her petite frame and drew attention away from her new-mum glow.
The awards honour outstanding women for their contribution to the entertainment industry.
Cameron Diaz was at the same event - she chose a demure strapless tea dress (forties big skirts are another big trend this season) accessorised with a matching red wrap.

Charlize Theron is a permanent fixture on ‘best dressed’ lists, this week she’s been jet-setting around Europe promoting her new movie Hancock with Will Smith, on the red carpet for the German premiere she proved yet again why she regularly tops the ‘most stylish woman’ lists.
But the ‘What were you thinking?’ award this week goes to singer Rihanna, during her appearance on The Today Show it looks like she pinned paper flowers to the bottom of her short black dress, and the cap doesn’t complement the quirky dress.

No Naomi at Sao Paulo Fashion Week

San Paulo

Supermodel Naomi Campbell
failed to turn up as scheduled at a runway show in Brazil on Saturday, apparently after her plans were upset by a conviction the day before for assaulting police officers at Heathrow airport in April.

Campbell, 38, had been scheduled to appear on the catwalk at the Sao Paulo Fashion Show for the summer 2009 swimsuit collection by the Rio label Rosa Cha, according to Globo.com, Terra and other Brazilian media.
But her sentencing on Friday in London to 200 hours of community service and more than 5,600 dollars in fines and compensation seemed to torpedo that modeling assignment.

The British celebrity had admitted in court to kicking and spitting at the officers in a foul-mouthed tantrum as they tried to eject her from a British Airways flight following a row over lost luggage.
Campbell is a regular visitor to Brazil, flying in every couple of months.
Several media in Brazil and Britain have reported that she is involved in a relationship with a Brazilian billionaire, Marcus Elias. The two were photographed kissing while swimming in the Mediterranean last month.

Different approach to style for two generations of fashion icon

Two generations of blonde supermodel were showing their different milieu this week when Agyness Deyn and Claudia Schiffer teamed up to support Graduate Fashion Week.

Underlining her credentials as the current darling of British fashion, Agyness - who was accompanied by socialite Pixie Geldof - had taken inspiration from the punk era.

The extrovert lass from Lancashire was wearing a slouchy knitted top and leather trousers, accessorised with a Union flag clutch. Topping off the retro glam outfit was a spiky hairdo which had been backcombed into tufts.

Meanwhile Claudia, a timeless icon and favourite of Ralph Lauren and Karl Lagerfeld, had taken the classic LDB route in a satin number with ruffle detail.

The style pack were there to choose a Julien McDonald or Alexander McQueen of tomorrow, who’ll receive a £20,000 prize to start their own fashion line.

Top 10 Most Photogenic Celebrities

Celebrities never fail to look their best in the photographs. However, there is only one who almost never fails to put the right foot forward, and that is no one else but Australian pop queen . In a survey conducted by Samsung, world’s leading camera maker, Kylie was titled the Most Photogenic Celebrity.
Heartbreaker is lounging at the 2nd place, reports Daily Express.
The #3 is the hottest celebrity-dad, who has two twins coming on the way. It is !

Somehow, my fav is only #6

So, the official Top 10 Most Photogenic Celebrities are:

1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8 Cheryl Cole
9 Robbie Williams
10 Paris Hilton

Robbie Williams, in my opinion, deserves to take the #2 place instead of Clooney. Robbie is so photogenic and could probably make an excellent acting career if he tried.

Here is sexy video to his song ‘Feel’. It is in my favorite playlist and it will never be removed from there.

Natalie Portman

Nisa Iqbal at the John Frieda salon talks us through how to get Natalie’s updo. “This is quite a casual look and is easy to achieve for most hair types. Add a volumising mousse (such as Joh Frieda Volume Mousse) then blast dry and smooth if your hair is straight or use a diffuser if your hair is curly. Using large tongs tong hair starting from the back and working your way round t he sides to the front. Then tip your head upside down and apply some texturising paste to add definition. Lift the back section, twist into a knot and secure with pins or hairgrips. At the front, side part the hair and loosely clip behind the ears.”
